For Jim McIntosh, George & Farinas’ in-house Investigator and Union liaison, traveling Indiana and surrounding states educating working men and women about the dangers of toxic exposure is more than a job; it’s a personal passion that hits close to home.

Raised in southern Indiana, Jim got earned a degree in engineering. He began his career in the 1970s as a steelworker. He was also a full-time Union official for fifteen of those years. He, like many of our clients, was exposed to workplace toxins and chemicals, such as asbestos, coal tar pitch and benzene. In the 1990s, following a workers’ strike, Jim decided to enroll in night classes at a local college. Through his studies, he found an undeniable connection between his on-the-job experiences and the law. In the Fall of 1996 he enrolled at Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. Even though law school was an opportunity he never expected for himself, Jim knew with a law degree, he could truly make a difference.

Jim began working with Linda George & Kathy Farinas in the Spring of 2003. In his unique position as both law school graduate and former Union worker, he earned the title, “The Road Warrior” with his untiring dedication to his work. Today, Jim is found regularly visiting Building Trades, Central Labor Councils, retiree meetings, and local union membership meetings in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. Jim’s passion and commitment to the clients and their families reflects that of the law firm that serves those who have been wrongfully injured. Jim works to make a difference, to educate others on important medical and legislative issues - those that hard working men and women face on a daily basis.
